Storm Damage Repair in Harrah

After hail or high wind, you want two answers: what broke and when it gets fixed. We get up on the roof, photograph every damaged spot and hand you a repair date we can actually hit. If that date has to move, we call you before it does.

What storm damage repair covers

Storm damage repair means fixing what one particular storm did to your roof. That could be hail bruises on shingles, tabs torn loose by wind, dented vents, bent flashing or a limb that broke through the decking. Part of it shows from the ground. Much of it only shows up close.

Spring and early summer storms around Harrah and Choctaw bring hail and straight-line wind, often in the same week. After a big one, roofers fill up fast. We'd rather give you an honest date than a promise we can't keep. You get a window for the inspection, a window for the work and a phone call if weather or materials push anything back.

Plenty of storm jobs end with a handful of fixes. Others leave damage on every slope, and paying for patch after patch stops adding up. When that's the case, we say so plainly, show you the photos behind it and talk through roof replacement as the other option.

What the work includes

A full roof check

We go slope by slope, checking the shingles, the ridge, every vent and pipe boot, and the metal flashing at walls and chimneys. Then we look in the attic for water stains and check the gutters.

Photos of the damage

You get clear pictures of each problem, labeled by slope. They show you what happened up there, and you can pass them along to your insurance company.

Temporary cover when needed

If water is coming in, we cover the damaged area to slow the leak until the permanent repair is on the calendar.

Repairs that match

We replace damaged shingles, flashing and vents with the closest match to your current roof we can find. Torn underlayment and soft decking get fixed, not hidden under new shingles.

Cleanup

Before we leave, we gather old shingles, nails and storm debris from your yard and driveway.

Signs a storm damaged your roof

  • Granules in the gutters

Gritty granules piled at the downspouts after hail mean shingles lost their protective coat. Bare spots wear out fast in the sun.

  • Missing or lifted shingles

Wind can lift tabs and break the seal even if the shingle stays put. Once the seal breaks, the next storm can take it.

  • Dents on metal

Check vents, gutters and the AC unit. If they took hail dents, the shingles likely took hits too.

  • Fresh ceiling spots

If a brown ring appears overhead in the days after a storm, something above it is open. Water often soaks through insulation for a while first, so the leak may be bigger than the spot.

  • Debris on the roof

Branches and limbs can crack shingles or punch into decking. Don't climb up to move them. Let us look first.

How a storm repair job runs

  1. 1

    Your phone call

Tell us what happened and what you're noticing. We give you a time window for the inspection, not a vague maybe.

  2. 2

    Inspection and photos

We check the roof and the attic and photograph the damage. Before we leave, we walk you through the pictures: what got hurt and what came through fine.

  3. 3

    Written estimate and the claim

You get a written estimate with each item listed. If you decide to go through insurance, we lay out the usual order of steps and can meet the adjuster on the roof at your home. Coverage is the adjuster's decision, not ours.

  4. 4

    Set the work date

Once you're ready, we order materials and give you a start date. If weather or a supplier delay moves it, we call you.

  5. 5

    Repair day

The crew protects your yard and siding, makes the repairs and cleans up. Most storm repairs wrap up in a day. We show you what we did before we head out.

What moves the cost of storm repair

The price comes down to how much damage there is and what we find under it. We can't know that until we've been up on the roof. Your written estimate puts every repair on its own line, so nothing gets lumped into one big number. If more turns up once shingles come off, we show you and talk it over before doing any extra work.

How much area got hit
Fixing a handful of wind-torn shingles on one side is a much smaller job than replacing hail-bruised shingles on every slope.
Condition of the decking
Plywood that got wet or went soft has to come out. We can't be sure of its condition until the old shingles are pulled.
Matching materials
Older or discontinued shingles can be hard to find. That can change the scope of the job, or shift the talk toward repair versus replacement.
Roof pitch and access
Steep slopes and spots crowded by trees take longer and need more safety gear.

Storm damage repair questions

Something not covered here? (405) 603-0833

How long until you can come look at my roof?

It depends on how many calls came in after the storm. When you call, we give you an honest window based on our actual schedule. If something changes, we let you know right away instead of leaving you waiting.

Do I need to file an insurance claim first?

No. Many people have us inspect first so they know if there's real damage before they file. If the damage is minor, a claim may not make sense. We explain what we found and you decide.

Will you deal with my insurance company?

We can meet the adjuster at your home, show our photos and point out the damage we found. We don't act as your adjuster and we can't decide what your policy covers. That part is between you and your insurance company.

Are you licensed for this work?

Yes. We hold an Oklahoma residential roofing license and an Oklahoma general contractor license. We also carry an Oklahoma commercial roofing license, so storm damage on a business building is something we handle too, through our commercial roof repair service.

Can I wait until the busy season dies down?

If water isn't getting in, a short wait is usually fine. But hail-bruised or unsealed shingles get worse with every storm, and most policies have a time limit to report damage. Have it looked at soon even if the repair happens later.
