Roof Replacement in Harrah

Once a roof is past fixing, we strip it to the deck and build a new one. You get a written estimate, a firm start date and a morning arrival window. If weather forces a change, we call you before the crew would have pulled up.

When a New Roof Is the Right Call

Replacing a roof means stripping all of it: shingles, underlayment, flashing and vents. We look over the wood deck, replace anything soft or rotted, and build the new roof up from there.

It makes sense when the shingles have aged out on every slope, when each storm brings a leak somewhere new, or when hail has bruised so much of the roof that patching would never catch up. If the trouble is limited to a few spots, we say so, and roof repair may cover it.

We hold an Oklahoma residential roofing license and an Oklahoma general contractor license. On a full replacement that counts, since the job can take in decking, ventilation and the permit.

What the Job Includes

Full tear-off

Everything comes off down to the wood. A second layer over old shingles hides trouble and adds weight, so we skip that shortcut.

Deck check and wood repair

With the deck bare, we walk every section and test it underfoot. Bad boards get replaced. If it goes past what the estimate covers, you see photos and the cost first.

Underlayment and ice and water barrier

Synthetic underlayment covers the whole deck. Valleys, eaves and spots where the roof meets a wall or chimney get a self-sealing membrane, because that is where hard rain finds its way in.

New flashing and vents

The old metal goes in the dumpster. We install new drip edge, step flashing and pipe boots, and set up attic vents so summer heat has a way out.

Shingles installed to spec

Each shingle gets the nail count and placement the maker calls for. In Oklahoma wind, that is what keeps them on.

Cleanup and nail sweep

Before tear-off, we lay tarps over flower beds and along the siding. At the end of the job, the old roof leaves with the dumpster, and we go over the grass and driveway with a magnetic sweeper so loose nails don't end up in a tire or a bare foot.

Signs Your Roof Needs Replacing

  • Granules in the gutters

Aging shingles lose their gritty top coat. When it piles up in the gutters or washes out at the downspouts, the shingles are close to done.

  • Curling, cracking or missing shingles

A handful of loose shingles is a fix. Curling and cracking on several slopes means the roof has run its course.

  • Leaks in more than one place

A single leak gets repaired. When water marks keep turning up on different ceilings year after year, the roof is usually giving out everywhere.

  • Widespread hail bruising

Hail knocks granules loose and leaves soft dents. When that covers most of the roof, replacing it is often the straight answer. Our storm damage repair page explains that process.

  • Sagging rooflines

A low spot along the roof can point to wet, weakened decking. Get it checked soon.

How a Replacement Runs, Start to Finish

  1. 1

    Look and measure

We come out in an arrival window we set with you, get on the roof, measure it and check the attic. You get a written estimate with each line spelled out.

  2. 2

    Pick a start date

We give you a real date, not a maybe. We also order materials so they land the day before or that morning, not a week early sitting in your driveway.

  3. 3

    Weather check

We watch the forecast closely the days before. If rain or high wind is coming, we call you, move the date, and tell you the new one.

  4. 4

    Tear-off and install

The crew shows up in the morning window we told you. Most homes are finished in one or two days. We do not leave the roof open overnight; anything not finished gets dried in and tarped.

  5. 5

    Walk-through

When we are done, we walk the job with you, go over photos of the deck and flashing, and make sure the yard is clean.

What Moves the Price

No two roofs get the same number. We measure yours, check the deck from the attic side, and write the cost down before anything starts. These are the things that raise or lower it.

Square footage and slope
A bigger roof takes more shingles and more hours on it. A steep slope means harnesses, roof jacks and a slower pace for the crew.
How many layers come off
Older homes sometimes have a second layer of shingles nailed over the first. Pulling both adds labor and adds to the disposal bill.
What the deck looks like
Soft or rotted boards must be swapped out. Nobody can count them until the shingles are off, so your estimate shows a set price per board ahead of time.
The shingle you pick
Architectural shingles are the standard choice. Impact-rated shingles cost more but stand up better to hail, and some insurance carriers give a lower premium for them.
Add-ons and permits
Chimneys, skylights, added vents and whatever permit your town asks for all go into the total.

Roof Replacement Questions

Something not covered here? (405) 603-0833

How long will the job take?

Once the crew starts, most homes are done in one or two days. A large roof, a steep pitch or a lot of bad decking can stretch it a day. You will know the expected length when we pick your date.

What happens if it rains on my date?

We push it back. You get a call ahead of time with the reason and the next open date. Losing a day beats leaving your home exposed.

Do I need to be home?

Not all day. We like a quick talk when we arrive and a walk-through at the end. Keep a phone handy in case we find rotted decking and need your okay.

Will insurance pay for a new roof?

It can, when a storm did the damage. Hail and wind claims are common, and your policy decides what is covered. We take photos of the damage and walk you through how claims usually go, but the adjuster makes the coverage decision.

Is it loud inside the house?

Yes, for a few hours during tear-off. Take pictures and mirrors off upstairs walls and give pets a quiet room. Move cars out of the garage and off the driveway.

Do you handle the permit?

Yes. When your town needs a roofing permit, we pull it and set up any inspection. You do not have to make those calls.
